It's only Thursday, but we're already thinking about everything we've got planned next week.
If you're looking to get politically active in Brooklyn asap, you have three chances to jump in:
1. On Tuesday, phonebank to elect great District Leader candidates in Assembly District 52!
Join our virtual phonebank to support our endorsed District Leader candidates in AD52, Cheryl Cook and Seamus Campbell!
Both are long-time local advocates who are committed to creating a more inclusive, transparent Brooklyn Democratic Party, but they need your help to get elected.
We'll be gathering virtually at 6:00pm on Tuesday, June 14th, so you can call neighbors from the comfort of your own home.
2. On Wednesday, attend our virtual South Brooklyn endorsement meeting!
Join Brooklyn Young Democrats via Zoom on Wednesday, June 15th at 7:00PM for our next meeting, where we'll consider endorsements in races throughout the borough.
We'll speak with State Senator Zellnor Myrie, who's running for re-election in State Senate District 20, which includes parts of Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, Crown Heights, Prospect Heights, Park Slope and Windsor Terrace. We'll also chat with Assembly Member Mathylde Frontus, whose 46th Assembly District includes Coney Island and parts of Bay Ridge.
After that, we'll hear from female District Leader candidates in Assembly Districts 46 (Coney Island, Bay Ridge), 58 (East Flatbush, Canarsie) and 59(Canarsie, Mill Basin), as well as male District Leader candidates in Assembly District 48 (Boro Park).
Then, we'll be voting on endorsements in all these races!
If you're eager to get out and talk to Brooklynites in real life, join us to knock doors in support of Shaquana Boykin, our endorsed District Leader candidate in Assembly District 57!
Since she was first elected to the role two years ago, Shaquana has been an unapologetic advocate for central Brooklyn focused on civic engagement, youth empowerment and party reform.
Meet us at 6:00pm on Thursday June 16th at the Brooklyn Museum at 200 Eastern Parkway to ensure Shaquana has a chance to continue her crucial work.
