John, you and I watched in horror as insurrectionists violently attacked our country on January 6th, 2021.

Now, it’s time to watch the House’s bipartisan investigators present the evidence they’ve found -- so we can hold those behind this shameful attack fully accountable.

You can tune in LIVE to see the January 6th Select Committee’s first public hearing on ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, and C-SPAN -- as well as streaming on house.gov -- this evening starting at 8 p.m. Eastern.

This could be a watershed moment -- like the Watergate hearings -- that will appeal to the nation’s conscience and bring us together against this profound and ongoing threat to our democracy. And quite frankly, for all of our sakes, it must be.

Tonight’s hearing will mark a turning point in our advocacy for holding wrongdoers accountable, protecting free and fair elections, and strengthening our democracy -- to make sure no future president can abuse their power to the extent that Donald Trump was able to.

Plus, it will build our case for reforming the Electoral Count Act to close the loopholes that rogue state legislatures and Trump’s allies in Congress sought to use to overturn the 2020 election. And we must continue to push hard to get laws that protect voting rights across the finish line.

John, we now know that former President Trump and his fellow far-right extremists engaged in a criminal conspiracy by helping plan, promote, and pay for the violent January 6 insurrection.
