Hey there — I’m Josh Shapiro, Democratic nominee for Pennsylvania Governor. I’m coming to you today to explain why it’s so important that you get involved in state-level races like mine this fall.

Pennsylvania is a critical battleground state. Whoever we elect as Governor and to our legislature will have a lot of power – to protect abortion, defend voting rights, help people get ahead, and tackle the big fights facing Pennsylvanians.

Our next Governor will appoint the Secretary of State who will oversee the 2024 election. Our legislators will have the choice of accepting our election results or calling them into doubt. It's likely Donald Trump is running for president again, and it’s critical we have a Governor and legislature in office who will defend the results of the election.

My opponent, state Senator Doug Mastriano, wouldn’t protect your freedoms or your voice. He was at the Capitol on January 6th, tried to overturn the 2020 presidential election results, and wears his Trump endorsement proudly. Pennsylvanians deserve better than someone like Mastriano.

This is a consequential race. Pennsylvania is one of the states that decided the 2020 election. So from the future of our democracy, to the rights we rely upon, to the 2024 election, whoever wins in Pennsylvania could shape the future of America.
