Hi there, friend, my name is Peggy Wood, a deeply proud mother writing to you today about my daughter, Senator Maggie Hassan. 

When she was growing up, none of us knew that Maggie would make history as the second woman in America to be elected both Governor and United States Senator. But her father and I always encouraged her to make a real difference in the world, so I must admit that I'm not surprised.

A few years ago, I watched proudly from the Senate gallery as Maggie took her oath of office — and I’ve watched proudly every day as she takes on tough fights to make a real difference for our country. Whether it's working to lower prescription drug costs or saving the Affordable Care Act, Maggie's never stopped fighting for what matters most.
