Dear John,
Join us for our JUNE 22 WEBINAR, TOXIC TOURS: VIRTUALLY EXPERIENCE THE
IMPACT OF PLASTIC PRODUCTION ON FRONTLINE COMMUNITIES [3], to learn more
about the toxic consequences of plastic production on communities and the
environment.
Despite increasing public pressure to stop plastic pollution, the
PETROCHEMICAL INDUSTRY HAS PLANS TO EXPAND PRODUCTION. Residents of
FRONTLINE COMMUNITIES near these petrochemical facilities FACE SERIOUS
PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL HEALTH RISKS linked to constant exposure to stress
and chemicals.
To ELEVATE THEIR VOICES, our partners at Break Free From Plastic [4] have
created virtual Toxic Tours [5], a COMMUNITY-LED STORYTELLING AND MAPPING
EXPERIENCE on the impacts of plastic production on frontline communities.
The Toxic Tours bring local experiences into the digital space to reach a
global audience. The platform currently features stories from communities
in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the United States.
