Even a 3-year-old knows that boiling birds alive is wrong. But I’ve met plenty of corporate executives who struggle with this assertion. The fact that hundreds of thousands of terrified chickens suffer this fate in slaughterhouses every year shows just how broken our food system has become.

But there’s hope: Thanks to your actions and donations, more and more big companies are vowing to stop profiting from this extreme cruelty, and committing to higher welfare standards that include ending “live-shackle slaughter.”

Three years ago, HelloFresh was applauded for making that commitment.

Just last month, the meal kit giant reported on its progress. This should have been cause for optimism. But during a time when HelloFresh has enjoyed record profits and attracted millions of customers—it has done frustratingly little for chickens. The reality is, HelloFresh isn’t showing enough progress to signal that it’s on track to meet its committed timeline. And that’s bad news for animals.

While HelloFresh drags its feet, countless birds have endured lifetimes of chronic pain followed by a slaughter process that is known to break bones—and even boil birds alive.

This is not okay.

HelloFresh might think they can ignore the cries of suffering animals—but they can’t ignore us. They can’t ignore you—or the thousands of activists and caring customers who are united with you.

In recent days, a tidal wave of emails, phone calls, and social media posts have blasted HelloFresh for failing to take animal cruelty seriously.

To drive the message home, protesters descended on HelloFresh’s doorstep in New York City to let the company know the time for change is now.

And we’re just getting started.

Don’t let HelloFresh break its promise to animals!

TAKE ACTION [[link removed]]

No animal deserves to suffer for profit. We have HelloFresh’s attention; now we need to show them how relentless we—and our movement—truly are. Will you join me in letting HelloFresh know it’s time to uphold their promises?

Every company that fulfills its animal welfare policy impacts the lives of hundreds of thousands of chickens. Let’s make a difference together.

For the animals,
