Rebecca Sugar is an Emmy-nominated animator, writer, and singer-songwriter. They are the creator of the Cartoon Network series “Steven Universe,” making them the first non-binary person to independently create a series for the network.

I’m Rebecca Sugar, an animator and singer-songwriter. (That's my drawing up top ⬆️). I’m also bisexual and non-binary, and have been working with The Trevor Project because their support of LGBTQ young people is so important. I’m hoping you’ll help me support Trevor’s work in two ways:

1) Spread the word and tune into my (free!) concert on June 12.

It’s on Sunday, June 12 @ 5-7 PM PST / 8-10 PM EST on Instagram and I’ve set a goal to raise $20,000 for The Trevor Project, so help me get as many people watching and donating as possible.

2) Help me get a jump on fundraising.

The more we raise, the more resources there are for LGBTQ youth. I want to meet our $20,000 fundraising goal as soon as we can.

Singing and songwriting have always been important to me. I use them as a creative and emotional outlet when I’m feeling low. I’ve learned through The Trevor Project’s research that I’m not alone in this — LGBTQ youth often find joy and strength in their lives through music, art and creativity!

It’s meaningful to connect with one another through art, and so critical for young people to know the value of sharing their stories and voices. That’s why I’m so excited – and grateful – to host a virtual concert on my Instagram starting at 5-7 PM PST / 8-10 PM EST to support The Trevor Project. I really hope you can tune in.
