In early 2019, hundreds of my fellow fast food workers and I were protesting sexual harassment that was too prevalent at McDonald's locations across California. Then, COVID struck. I asked for masks. Some McDonald's workers got dog diapers and coffee filters instead. If I got sick, I needed COVID paid sick days. Instead, corporate executives gave us "crazy sock day." McDonald's even lobbied themselves out of federal COVID paid sick leave.

I was fed up. So my coworkers and I went on strike! Now, We're calling on Governor Newsom and the state Senate to support AB 257 and hold exploitative fast food chains accountable.

California can lead the way in making all workplaces safer. Please tell Governor Newsom that unless he supports AB 257, the California Dream he talks about on the campaign trail will be inaccessible to fast food workers. You can ADD YOUR NAME HERE!

Low wage workers like me are making less while massive corporations like McDonald’s are making historic profits. Enough is enough! Workers need a seat at the table to hold fast food chains accountable. Please help workers by sending a message to Governor Newsom to support AB 257.
