Organizing for racial justice in the 21st century is a story of organizing against technologies that are a part of our everyday lives.

Since 2020, we have seen a massive uptick in the use of our phones, computers, cars, and public infrastructure to surveil, silence, and police our communities. As you know, we’ve also seen an expansion of electronic monitoring ([link removed]) , a false solution to mass incarceration that outsources the work of the prison to the home.

The fight against surveillance technology, in many ways, is the fight of our lifetime.

This June, we’ll be spotlighting the ways our MediaJustice community is fighting for a world without surveillance. You’ll hear from MJ staff and Network members who are on the ground, and you’ll learn how to plug in to and support our newly launched Unshackling Freedom campaign.
