Together, on June 18, we will lift up a moral call to heal our nation.Dear MoveOn member,
This is Bishop William J. Barber II. I am writing to you with deep concern
about the health of our nation. Every day, it seems we face a new crisis,
but the impact of each is shaped by the preexisting condition of poverty
in America. 140 million people—almost half of our population—are poor or
low-wealth. Whether the issue is abortion restrictions, acts of violence
in our schools and workplaces, heightened calls for war, extreme weather
events, or the ongoing pandemic, poor people are hurt first and worst. And
poor people know that all of the injustices they face are deeply
connected.

and Low-Wage Workers' Assembly and Moral March on Washington and to the
Polls on June 18.
Over the last few years, I have crisscrossed the nation and seen the deep
impacts of systemic racism, poverty, ecological devastation, the war
economy, the denial of health care, and a distorted moral narrative that
tells us that in the richest country in the world there is not enough to
go around. As long as America ignores these realities, we all live in an
impoverished democracy. Today, the moral conscience of our society must be
shocked into action if we are to survive as a nation.

Low-Wage Workers' Assembly and Moral March on Washington. Let's make the
call for democracy, health care, and a fair economy loud and clear!
Interlocking crises demand an intersectional response, and on June 18
thousands upon thousands will do exactly that, by coming together for the
Mass Poor People's and Low-Wage Workers' Assembly and Moral March on
Washington and to the Polls. On June 18, poor and low-wealth people will
stand shoulder to shoulder with all justice-loving people to make the
country hear and see their pain. Together, we will lift up a moral call to
heal our nation.

is now. RSVP to reserve your spot today.
MoveOn has long understood what is possible when the people come together
to demonstrate their power. Many of you have been on the front lines for
years. For some of you, this may be a first.

marching shoes and join us in Washington, D.C., on June 18.
Forward together!

Want to support our work? Right-wing groups are spending tens of millions
of dollars on TV ads to smear critical progressive legislation. Meanwhile,
donations to progressive groups like MoveOn are plummeting now that a
Democrat is in the White House, meaning we don’t have the resources to
fight back. That's a huge problem, and that's why we urgently need your
support.
Will you chip in to fight right-wing lies and pass urgent legislation to
confront the multiple crises our country faces?
