The news media landscape has changed dramatically over the past couple of decades. Advanced digital platforms have created innovative journalistic practices that empower new forms of communication with greater global reach than at any point in human history. While this change may be positive, it is disturbing to note that social media and alternative news sources have grown in popularity and often bombard the American population with information that is not always truthful.

Oceans of disinformation and hoaxes that are widely known as “fake news” are flooding us daily and affecting the way we individuals think. Increasingly, domestic and foreign adversaries have used disinformation as a dangerous tool to undermine the civil trust in our public and democratic institutions, create polarization and unleash chaos to weaken our national security.

For this episode of Out In Front, hosted by Maria-Teresa Liebermann-Parraga, we will discuss the serious problem our nation is facing today: disinformation. We’ll be joined by Kelsey Sutter, Vice President of GQR, and Ignacio Romero, our Latino Anti-Disinformation Program Manager. This is a conversation you don’t want to miss!
