Smiles

I’ve been encouraged to keep on with The Byrds this week—twist my arm! The band’s third album, “Fifth Dimension,” released in the summer of 1966, marked a voyage into psychedelic and raga rock (pop music with an Indian influence). The record is a classic, with its key track “Eight Miles High” becoming known as the first bona fide psychedelic rock song. “Eight Miles High” is a masterpiece, but so is the lesser known “I See You,” which sounds like nothing that came before it as well.
