John,
Over the past two decades, the gun violence epidemic has wreaked havoc on American communities. From Columbine to Buffalo to Uvalde to countless more tragedies across the country, over a million American lives have been lost to gun violence.
Today, my colleagues and I on the Oversight Committee heard from gun violence survivors and loved ones about how the gun violence epidemic has impacted their lives. Hearing these heart-wrenching stories only furthered my determination to pass gun safety laws on the federal level.
John, enough is enough. It’s time to put an end to this senseless loss of life. Join me in demanding immediate action to stop the gun violence epidemic in this country by adding your name here:
Earlier this week, I attended a bill signing with Governor Hochul where 10 bills were signed into law to make New York safer. New York is leading the way to confront gun violence. We need to do the same on the federal level.
American families need to feel safe sending their children to school, going grocery shopping, going to houses of worship, and simply leaving their homes.
As we go back to Washington, we need to take on the gun lobby and pass gun safety laws on the federal level. It is not enough to show thoughts and prayers. We need to match it with action.
I’m calling for all my colleagues in Congress to stand up for American lives and do the right thing. Sign on now to join me in the fight to end gun violence.
Thank you,
Carolyn
