Dear Friends,

Thank you all for joining us in celebrating Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month over the past few weeks! Throughout the history of our nation, AANHPI people have contributed to the rich culture and accomplishments of our country. To commemorate this heritage, the DNC AAPI Caucus presented “AAPI Rising,” a perfect end cap celebration to the month on Monday, May 31st. If you missed the event live, don’t worry! You can find the entire event at the link below.

In addition to celebrating the AANHPI community, the month of May also brought about the launch of our Latino Signature Outreach Program, Adelante. This was kicked off by a call with several key stakeholders in the Latino community and continued with several events in Orlando and Miami, Florida, as part of the DNC’s Democrats for the People tour. This is just one of the Coalitions and Community Engagement Team’s array of Signature Outreach Programs. These programs will continue to build long standing relationships and deeper engagement with traditionally underserved communities.

These actions are just the beginning of a Summer of outreach over at the DNC! Over the next few weeks, we will also see a number of Pride events, a Juneteenth event and so much more. Thank you all for staying engaged and active in our programming.

Best,
Brencia Berry

The DNC AAPI Caucus presents AAPI Rising

The Democratic National Committee and the DNC AAPI Caucus hosted the virtual AAPI Rising celebration to celebrate the accomplishments of the Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) community, and discuss how the Biden administration and Democrats are delivering for them.

The celebration featured special appearances from Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff, DNC Chair Jaime Harrison, Senator Tammy Duckworth, DNC AAPI Caucus Chair Bel Leong-Hong, and numerous other members of Congress, celebrities, and many more. Adelante Launch
DNC Latino Coalitions Director Michelle Villegas Tapia is launching and will direct Adelante’s programming across the country, including direct voter contact and community events.

In addition to the launch of Adelante, the DNC is also announcing part of a seven-figure investment in paid media ([link removed]) , kicking off with a round of Spanish-language print and radio ads. The ads tout the historic progress made under the leadership of President Joe Biden and congressional Democratic majorities.

The DNC is already working in partnership with its sister committees to invest in Latino outreach and organizing in targeted coordinated campaigns, including in Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Florida, Texas, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania.

Adelante will build on the DNC’s Spanish-language and bilingual voter contact program, through which volunteers help provide states with dedicated Spanish-language outreach capacity focused on coalition building, voter registration, and mobilization.

To kick off the program on the ground, Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison traveled to Florida to host a roundtable with Puerto Rican community leaders at Cariños Cafe in Kissimmee. During the event, Chair Harrison and local leaders discussed Democrats’ work to reach out to and mobilize the Puerto Rican community.

Track to ‘22

The Democrats are introducing Track to '22, an eight-week virtual boot camp, to prepare you and other Democrats with the skills and resources to organize your community and to mobilize voters across the country ahead of the midterms. Sessions will be hosted virtually every Saturday and recordings will be available for those who are unable to attend in real-time. With less than 200 days from Election Day every phone call, text message, online conversation, and voter registered is critical.

Sessions will deep dive into the building blocks of organizing, overview of advanced voter contact strategies, and community organizing skills you can take with you year over year. Track to ‘22 is for everyone, whether you're looking to get involved for the first time, sharpen your organizing chops, show up as a better grassroots activist in your community, or take on a leadership role.
