Westminster's broken First Past the Post system means it's virtually impossible
for most voters to throw out their MP. But our research has revealed just how
unlikely it is.

The average seat hasn't been won by a different party in 42 years.

Changes in public opinion wash against these seats as so few votes actually make
a difference. In the 2017 General Election 68% of voter could have stayed at
home and the result would have been exactly the same.
