Big news, folks — we had huge wins in the New Mexico democratic primary elections last night: 17 of the incredible candidates we endorsed and supported WON their primaries. Join me in celebrating them!
You are a big part of these victories — and I can’t thank you enough. Every single one of these folks is a champion for New Mexican families. They will fight for the solutions our communities are counting on — from improving public safety and protecting our public lands and the right to choose, to creating good-paying jobs, increasing affordable housing, and acting on climate change. I also want to thank Zack Quintero and Darrell Deaguero for running solid races. I was proud to support them and know they will find new ways to contribute and lead. And a big congratulations to Joseph Maestas and Cynthia Borrego for winning their primary elections against Zack and Darrell. Joseph and Cynthia ran strong races and, I’m confident, are committed to serving New Mexico well. It’s been less than 12-hours, but I’m all in, sleeves rolled up, and ready to put in the work to make sure each of my endorsed candidates, as well as Joseph and Cynthia, go on to win their general elections — along with Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver, and Representatives Teresa Leger Fernandez and Melanie Stansbury. It couldn’t be more important to elect Democrats at every level of government with so much at stake. But winning doesn’t come easy. I endorsed these folks early on because getting strong candidates the resources and support they need can make the difference between winning and losing. It will take even more resources to get these candidates across the finish line in November. So here’s my ask today: If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will immediately be split between Martin Heinrich and Lobo Leadership Fund: Our campaign endorsed 55 candidates in the general election back in 2020 — and 42 claimed victory.
