Newstead Abbey decorated with Christmas decorations
Wollaton Hall and Newstead Abbey

This weekend marks the start of Nottingham's heritage sites opening their doors for a season of festively themed events. Venture out to Newstead Abbey for a Storybook Christmas full of fairytales, and enjoy a winter themed afternoon tea while you're there. There's fun for all with craft stalls and activities every weekend, and even an opportunity to see Santa himself in his courtyard Grotto. Or, you can stay closer to home and take a trip down to Wollaton Hall where you can enjoy Christmas markets and festive fayre, and the chance to go on a Lantern Adventure Tour.

Newstead Abbey is accessible by car with onsite parking available. Alternatively, catch the Trent Barton 'Pronto' bus and be dropped off right at the front gates, or take the Robin Hood Line train to Worksop, getting off at Newstead. For Wollaton Hall, take the bus to either Rectory Gardens or Wollaton Park Gates, or park in the onsite car park.
