Friend,
June is a special month - it’s Pride Month, it marks 10 years since immigrant youth won DACA, and, for me, it marks 19 years since my family moved to the U.S. 👩👩👧 For the past 2 decades, my family has built our lives here in this country; meanwhile, democrats have failed to deliver permanent protections at every opportunity.
I was at the right place at the right time to qualify for DACA, but many of my family, friends, and loved ones were not and were left out. They, like me, need protections that go beyond temporary. 🗓️
So, on June 15th, people all over the country are taking action to demand permanent protections for our immigrant communities! Can you join us for our “DACA is Temporary, Our Home is Here” Day of Action on the 15th?📣 HOST AN ACTION! 📣
The past few years that I’ve had DACA, I’ve always known my family and my community deserve so much more. 🔮When I envision the next 10 years, I see myself being able to travel to Brazil freely & safely with my mom and sister for the first time in 19 years. I know this is the dream for many of us & it can be another victory we claim together if we take action to fight for permanent protections for all!
While we dream our vision for the next 10 years, we’re also taking action! 💥Don’t sleep on our “DACA is Temporary, Our Home is Here” Day of Action, Friend! With you in the fight, I believe we will win big for undocumented people like me, my family, and all 11 million of us!!✊
With love,
✨Mari, United We Dream Action
