| The attacks on me have begun in earnest. I received an email last week that frankly was just chalked full of claims that my opponent (who has never met me) couldn’t possibly know to be true. She calls me a “union-buster,” a “climate-change-denier,” and a “Big-Lie-believer.” My opponent knows that I’m a threat and she’s looking to paint me as an extreme out-of-touch puppet being controlled by party heads in D.C. That couldn’t be further from the truth. I’ve been telling you that this day would come for some time now – and now that day has finally arrived. I need you help to fend off these attacks – that if repeated enough – could stick and cost me this election. With Democrats having already committed to spending $6+ million in Oregon this election cycle, we can no longer to afford missing fundraising goals like we did in May. If every grassroots supporter who opened and read this email today chipped in $3, we’d be in sound financial shape. At this point, we’re already falling behind. Democrats are doing what they do best: LIE. My new opponent is attempting to define me before we have the opportunity to define ourselves. That isn’t going to work. The truth is I’m running for Congress because the entire Democrat Party has just simply lost touch with reality. We cannot afford to their agenda – we’re already on a path to bankruptcy. My opponent would be the loudest voice in Congress for new spending if she’s elected. That’s why we can’t let her win. We’re starring down the biggest goal of the entire campaign this month.
