Hi there — I’m Molly Murphy, a political pollster who works on some of the most competitive elections across the country.
I’ve just finished looking over the latest numbers between Evan McMullin and Mike Lee and one thing is abundantly clear:
Evan can absolutely win this race, but only if he has the money to compete with Senator Lee and the special interest groups funding his campaign.
So, if you want Evan to represent Utah in the U.S. Senate, there is nothing more important you can do right now than chip in to support his campaign.
Our research shows the race between Evan and Sen. Lee will be Utah’s most competitive Senate race in nearly five decades.
And it takes A LOT of resources to win a race of that magnitude, especially when you’re an independent taking on a 12-year incumbent with full party backing.
That’s why it’s been so impressive to see Evan build his coalition across party lines. He’s been joined by both the Utah Democratic Party and United Utah Party, and he’s earning support among Republicans and independents, as well.
Utah voters are really taking to Evan’s approach. His genuine efforts to collaborate, have the hard discussions, and bring people together are exciting voters who are ready for new leadership in November. But it’s on this grassroots team to make sure Evan has the resources to turn them out.
Simply put: the only thing holding Evan back from winning this race is money.
Sen. Mike Lee entered the cycle with an advantage of more than $2 million and he’ll continue to raise more from special interests and the far-right. Evan MUST continue to compete financially if he’s going to win.
It won’t be easy, but his coalition, all of you, can do this.
Utah’s Senate race will likely come down to how much money Evan can raise between now and November. He needs resources to share his message across the state.
So, if you want to see Evan become Utah’s next U.S. Senator, I’d suggest chipping in $25 or more right now. Your support will decide this race.
Best,
Molly Murphy
