Chick-fil-A Caves to LGBTQ and Dumps Salvation Army
ABC News states, “beginning in 2020, Chick-fil-A will no longer donate to The Salvation Army and The Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Instead, it will donate exclusively to a smaller number of organizations focused more on hunger, homelessness and education. The company drew sharp criticism for holding fast to their Bible based beliefs that a marriage is exclusively between a man and a woman. Since then, Chick-fil-A has revised who they contribute to.
In response to hearing Chick-fil-A’s new policy, the Salvation Army stated, "We’re saddened to learn that [Chick-fil-A] felt it necessary to divert funding to… hunger, education and homelessness organizations -- areas in which The Salvation Army, as the largest social services provider in the world, is already fully committed," the organization said. "We serve more than 23 million individuals a year, including those in the LGBTQ+ community. In fact, we believe we are the largest provider of poverty relief to the LGBTQ+ population." In announcing their change in policy, Chick-fil-A not only changed their stance, but it collapsed.

Trump Withholds Lebanese Funding
Although the liberal press will only condemn President Trump for withholding funding from Lebanon, it is for good reason. “Hezbollah has overwhelming political and military influence in Lebanon that presents an imminent geostrategic threat to Israel, and with Iran providing Hezbollah with hundreds of millions of dollars and tens of thousands of missiles, Hezbollah's threat to Israel is greater than ever, according to Congressman Zeldin [R-ND].
“…In December 2018, Israel uncovered six sophisticated cross-border tunnels built by Hezbollah in South Lebanon, which included stairs, a rail system and wide passageways allowing for the movement of equipment and forces, intended to cause substantial harm to Israeli civilians by enabling terrorists to sneak across the border and carry out attacks.” It is for this reason funding is being withheld, rightfully so. We must protect our ally, Israel. This revelation can only be found through research, you cannot trust what is read in the newspapers anymore.

Millions from Ukraine Paid to Kerry, Biden Jr
Ukrainian General Prosecutor’s office has discovered documents that shows money transfers from Ukrainian bank accounts going into top Democrats accounts. A “… ‘slush fund’ owned and operated by Devon Archer, John Kerry Senior, John Kerry Junior, Heinz Jr, and Hunter Biden…” “According to the Department of Financial Monitoring (Counter-intelligence) of Latvia, the following …money transfer of $14,655,982 and $366,015 EUR from “Wirelogic Technology AS”, and $1,964,375 from “Digitex Organization LLP” has been exposed.
“BURISMA HOLDINGS LIMITED, during a period from November 18th 2014 to November 16th 2015 transacted 45 money transfers through MORGAN STANLEY SMITH BARNEY LLC in the sum of $3.5M dollars. “Leaked transaction and bank records indicate an influx of large payments from Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings Limited to Rosemont Seneca Bohai LLC, in what appears to be monthly payments of $83,333.33. This is precisely why Democrats are up in arms to impeach President Trump. They know the extent of their involvement with the Ukrainian government. The president has every right to discuss any topic he deems necessary with the Ukrainian president when it concerns corruption at the highest level of government office. Further, President Trump has every right to ask the Ukrainian government to investigate such matters.

State
Austin’s Radical Sex Education
“Austin ISD school board voted to formally adopt a radical, hypersexualized…sex education curriculum… [It promotes] a Leftist ideology that is in direct conflict with traditional views on sexuality, marriage, family, and even biological facts by encouraging sexual activity and normalizing unhealthy sexual behaviors to children at a very young age. Not only does the curriculum promote homosexuality and gender confusion, but it condemns any opposition to these ideologies.”
“…Some examples of the radical nature of this curriculum include:
1. Prohibits kids from using the words “mother” and “father” to describe their parents. One resource in the curriculum advises students to not call the person who gave birth to them their “birth mother”.
2. Introduces sexual orientation and gender identity concepts to children as young as third grade. Kids will play a sexuality match game with terms like “bisexual”, “gay”, “lesbian”, and “homophobia”.
3. Curriculum has scenario where an underage girl enters into a sexual relationship with an adult that she hides from her parents.
4. Teaches kids to denounce those who do not agree with the LGBTQ agenda and advises them to attend “Pride” parades.
5. For more information please click on this link: [link removed]”

We at the Republican Party of Bexar County firmly stand with Texas Values and believe that children should be protected from indoctrination of this type of curriculum. If we citizens don’t stand up and let our School Board know we oppose such indoctrination, it will be happening in our school districts, too. The time to act is now. This is the president of the SAISD School Board Patti Radel: [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) . Please email her and let her know that you oppose this type of curriculum. Here is the link to find your school board member’s email: [link removed][UNIQID].

State Rep Nevarez Caught with Cocaine
Texas Rep. Alfonso “Poncho” Nevárez (D-Eagle Pass) was arrested for a felony drug possession. While he was being picked up by his chief-of-staff at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, video surveillance showed he dropped an envelope with the House Seal on it that contained 4 small bags of cocaine that equated to 2 grams of cocaine. “The DNA found on the envelope was a match to Nevárez and the white powder tested positive for cocaine.”
According to the Texas Tribune, “Nevárez faces a charge of third-degree felony possession of a controlled substance, which carries a maximum punishment of 10 years in prison.” In the aftermath of being exposed for drug addiction, Nevarez said he would not be seeking reelection. He closed his Facebook account, and said that he has no one to blame but himself, and will be seeking drug rehabilitation.

Republican Party of Texas Fumble
The Republican Party of Texas (RPT) somehow managed to get their 2020 political strategy in Democrats hands. “It include[d] a target list of 12 statehouse districts, including six in North Texas, that Republicans are aiming to take back in next year’s elections… “Starting after the Primary, the RPT will generate microsites for negative hits against the Democrat candidates in our twelve target race…” the document reads… The document lays out a plan to purchase online domain names affiliated with the names of Democratic candidates, so that Republicans can reroute them to the negative attack websites.”
What were they thinking? How could something like this happen? According to Texas GOP Chair James Dickey “… a staffer drafted some initial thoughts for discussion. He said that it should not be news that Republicans want to take back the seats they lost in 2018. We are doing that, so we continue to dominate in 2020 just like we have for 25 years in Texas,” he said. The bottom line is this should have never happened in the first place.

Universal City, City Council Votes No to Shelter
UC, City Council unanimously voted no to a boy’s shelter for illegal aliens age 11- 17 years old to a crowded room filled with citizens who opposed the shelter. Both County Commissioner Precinct 4, Tommy Calvert (D) and State Rep 118, Leo Pacheco (D)spoke out against the shelter as well. “There is a moral issue about the treatment of those who are in facilities like this,” Calvert said. …”The city council voted late Tuesday night to go along with the recommendation of the Universal City Planning and Zoning Commission to reject the proposal. Pacheco was elated with the decision and called it a “victory for the people.”

Republican Party Chair Debate Held
November 8, 2019 marked the first debate for Party Chair for the Republican Party of Texas. The debate was held at the Restoring Church on Fredericksburg Rd. The position is currently held by James Dickey and the challenger is LTC (ret) Allen West. It was sponsored by Bienvenido and Champion’s Coalition. Newcomer to the conservative party, Nico LaHood (R) served the master of ceremonies. The debate drew 150 people across Bexar County who came to hear each candidate’s position and who would best lead the Party going into the 2020 election.

VIA in Trouble, Wolff’s Solution: Throw Money at It
Since 2012, “ridership has dropped by 24% according to the Federal Transit Data. “…[County Judge Nelson Wolff] wants to shift a sales tax now dedicated to protecting the Edwards Aquifer to VIA. This would give the transit agency additional funds to squander as it watches ridership continue to drop.” It currently is costing taxpayers an average of $5 every time someone steps aboard a public transit bus.
“In 2017, VIA collected $23.6 million in fares but spent more than $205 million operating transit. It also spends an average of $40 million a year on maintenance and capital improvements (mainly new buses. VIA buses carried an average of just five passengers — that is, they carried five passengers for every vehicle mile they operated.” A shout out to Judge Wolff: It’s time to stop wasting taxpayers money, stop throwing money at VIA, and leave the money dedicated to the Edwards Aquifer alone.

Chairman’s Commentary
In today’s paper, Mayor Ron Nirenberg is pitch-hitting for Judge Wolff in a feeble attempt to convince taxpayers to divert the sales tax to protect the Edwards Aquifer to VIA instead. This is how the powerbrokers behave, they try to convince us that their ideas are beneficial to the citizens of San Antonio. Anyone with their head screwed on right knows this is a bad idea. The citizens of San Antonio voted to protect the aquifer- not VIA. Why would we want to keep throwing good money at bad ideas? VIA is a waste of taxpayer dollars. It’s outdated, and underperforming.
To prove my point, in 2016 I was part of a research class at St Mary’s University. Our assignment was to study VIA and determine which changes would be appropriate, if any. We were asked to take a ride on VIA for our paper. What our research team found was that to take a trip to the southside from the medical center on VIA took an hour and a half. A round trip took almost 4 hours. What we asked our professor was, “Why would anyone want to spend half their day on a bus? Our team determined that this was the reason no one was riding VIA. We also noted that any one of their buses had either three people riding it, or it was empty. Since the citizens of San Antonio are paying to have transit service on unoccupied buses, we don’t need to throw more money at VIA, we need to get rid of it altogether.
“In 2017, VIA collected $23.6 million in fares but spent more than $205 million operating transit. It also spends an average of $40 million a year on maintenance and capital improvements (mainly new buses).” You, the reader are probably asking yourselves, “What will the elderly, disabled, and others who can’t drive get around our fair city?” Randal O’Toole with the San Antonio Express-News, claims, “Census data say that about 13,700 San Antonians who earn less than $25,000 a year rely on transit to get to work. It would be far less expensive to give these people vouchers they could use for transit, taxis, Uber, Lyft or other transportation services than to keep subsidizing VIA.”

The Chaplain’s Corner
God Almighty, the Bible declares, is the One that breathed life into mankind. He gave us life. He tells us to choose life. Jesus, the Christ, said, “I have come that you might have life, and life more abundantly.” So, God, not only, wants us to have life (survive), He wants us to have abundant life (thrive).
Then, Jesus said, “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life”. Jesus is that son. I pray that you at this Christmas season would acknowledge this Biblical truth, enjoying an abundant life now, and eternal life forever. Remember, the Republican Party, always, stands on the side of life.
Merry Christmas,
RPBC Chaplain A. D. Smoot
