Patriot,
You know that politicians lie.
That is why, any time a politician or one of his servants tells
you something, you need to ask yourself how it will benefit them
if you believe it.
If you've contacted your U.S. Senators to demand they vote NO on
any gun control deal Democrats are scrambling to negotiate with
weak-kneed Republicans this week, maybe you've been told, "I'm
sorry, but the senator supports gun control, and he's voting for
it."
Or maybe you've been told, "Don't worry! Senator so-and-so is
pro-Second Amendment! Rest assured he'll do the right thing."
Maybe you've heard this one: "The Senator doesn't read form
letters."
The reality is this:
There's a huge election coming up, and these politicians are
frightened about what will happen come November. And they are
very nervous about it.
That's why Congressional staffers tell you they don't care about
your letters and phone calls: They want you to stop sending them
and fade into apathy.
And the gun control activists working in Congress don't want
their bosses to know how unpopular anti-gun rights legislation
is. They don't want to take the precious time fielding your phone
calls and letters when they could be campaigning.
Below, you'll find a letter from Adam de Angeli, a longtime
political consultant who worked in Congress during the last major
gun rights battle, which occurred in 2013 following the Sandy
Hook shooting. (He also worked on Ron Paul's 2008 and 2012
presidential campaigns, and for Campaign for Liberty back when
our organization launched in 2008.)
Check out Adam's inside view of how congressional offices respond
to phone calls, letters, and petitions from the grassroots.
And then, I hope you'll call your U.S. Representative and
Senators at (202) 224-3121 and tell them to vote NO on any gun
control deal, and if you haven't already, take a moment to sign
the Campaign for Liberty petition: NO CONTROL DEALS!

Campaign for Liberty
Patriot,
The last time Congress really tried to ram through an assault on
the right to keep and bear arms, I worked there.
It was 2013, and tragedy had just struck: a mass shooting at
Sandy Hook Elementary School.
Our phone lines and emails were inundated, day after day, as were
our inboxes. As our office's policy staffer covering Bill of
Rights issues, replying to emails was my job.
The most important part of that job was counting the tallies.
How many letters were we getting tell us to vote NO on any gun
control deal?
And how many letters were we getting telling us to support it?
It didn't matter that my boss was a staunch Second Amendment
supporter.
He needed to know how many votes were in play on either side.
His was a swing district. He needed to know how many votes he was
going to lose because he stood up to defend gun rights.
Every member of Congress does this. They don't tell the
constituents. But they count the number of calls and letters on
either side.
Even if your U.S. Congressman or Senator says he is 100% going to
defend the Second Amendment and vote "no" on any gun control deal
- and even if he says he is going to vote AGAINST your right to
keep and bear arms - they need to hear from you.
Because they're counting.
And Democrats are counting to see how many seats they're going to
lose - and how much more they might get away with before that
fateful Election Day.
It's not just about the Second Amendment: It's about all the
other issues we've been fighting on, from the Green New Deal to
the surveillance state to giving our tax dollars to foreign
governments.
There is a reckoning coming in November, and the more petitions
you send, the more phone calls you make, the more of a difference
it really makes.
Every gun rights group in America was scrambling in 2013 when
left-wing groups across America were screaming at the top of
their lungs for gun control, and the mass media did everything to
whip the public into an anti-gun frenzy.
And yet, because of your phone calls and emails, guess what the
final outcome was?
The Bill of Rights won. There was no gun control deal.
And Mary Landrieu (D-LA), Kay Hagan (D-NC), Mark Begich (D-AK),
Mark Pryor (D-AR), and Mark Udall (D-CO) were all defeated in
their next election. Best of all, the biggest RINO in the House,
who supported the gun control deal, Majority Leader Eric Cantor,
was defeated in his primary.
Yes, your petitions, your phone calls, your emails do make the
difference.
Call Congress right now: Just call (202) 224-3121 and ask to be
connected to your representative and senators.
Here's a simple script:
Hi, this is (your name) calling from (your city). I'm calling to
demand you defend the Second Amendment against the gun-grabbers
by opposing ALL gun control legislation and refuse to deal away
our Second Amendment rights.
Mass shootings happen because our communities are crumbling,
people are becoming anti-social, and too many people can't defend
themselves - all because of policies coming from Washington.
Defend the Bill of Rights, the right to self-defense, and make
our schools safe. Do not rob us of our constitutional rights.
And if you haven't already done so, it only takes a few seconds
to sign the Campaign for Liberty petition: NO GUN CONTROL DEALS!

They act like they don't care how many letters and petitions you
send - because they want you to stop sending them.
In reality, you, the voters, are the one thing they fear. That's
why the House is having a show trial this week to terrorize
supporters of President Trump.
Because they fear you, they want your silence.
Don't give it to them. Call Congress NOW at (202) 224-3121.
