Assessing Climate Transition Plans in the U.S. Food Sector

There is a growing need for U.S. food companies to disclose plans for achieving their GHG targets to align with the Paris goal of 1.5°C. Ceres’ upcoming report, “The Investor Guide to Climate Transition Plans in the U.S. Food Sector
,” outlines this need and highlights what investors should look for within corporate climate disclosures to ensure companies are on the right track. Join Ceres to discuss what implementation of the reports’ recommendations can look like in practice, highlighting publicly available disclosure on efforts to reduce value chain GHG emissions from companies tracked by Ceres’ Food Emissions 50 initiative such as Bunge, Chipotle, General Mills, Hershey, Starbucks, and Tyson Foods. |

Joan Bavaria was a pioneer of social investing, using her vision and passion to help catalyze change in the capital markets. Among other endeavors, she founded Trillium Asset Management and Ceres; her influence is still reflected by their efforts today. In 2008, Ceres and Trillium Asset Management created the Joan Bavaria Award in Joan's honor, after she lost her prolonged battle with cancer. The award is presented annually by Ceres and Trillium Asset Management to recognize a unique investor or NGO leader who is working to transform the capital markets into a system that balances economic prosperity with social and environmental concerns. |

Alphabet Soup: A Comparison of ISSB's Climate Exposure Draft and the SEC Proposed Rule

A proposed rule on climate-related disclosures, known as the Climate Exposure Draft, has just been published by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB)—which is part of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Foundation. There are many similarities with the recently proposed mandatory climate-disclosure rule from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), such as its use of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations, but there are also some key differences. Join Ceres and US SIF as we talk through the alphabet soup of key players involved with the ISSB’s proposed rule and its larger implications. Follow

ESG: Navigating the Board's Role
Registration is open for the updated Fall 2022 session of ESG: Navigating the Board’s Role—a short online course co-developed by Ceres and the University of California Berkeley School of Law. The self-guided course runs September 12 to December 12th.
