Welcome to issue 22 of the Houston DSA Newsletter! I'm Stephen Adkison, Houston DSA's Communications Secretary. Thanks for reading, and for doing all the work that I'll be writing about in these newsletters.

Last Week in Houston DSA |

Our Reading Group met Monday to discuss Decolonization Is Not A Metaphor, Eve Tuck and K. Wayne Young. The article is about, aptly how decolonization is not a metaphor, but a demand for the reparation of Indigenous land. Thanks for everyone who came out to talk about this important issue! Next time on December 16 we'll be discussing Mark Fisher's Capitalist Realism.
On Saturday a group of Houston DSA members went out to Austin to help the Heidi Sloan campaign canvass as well as learn from the best! This is one of those events that I'd recommend talking to anyone who attended about, because I have only heard great things and I'm sure they'd have a lot of wisdom to pass on. If you'd like to see some of that wisdom in action, go out to our Bernie campaigns and keep an eye out for our other endorsed candidate canvasses coming soon! |
