Mandatory Drag Shows for Children in California?

Over the weekend, a Dallas gay bar hosted a “Drag the Kids to Pride” event, where children were subjected to scantily clad drag queens dancing up the aisle and even invited to join them.

State Rep. Bryan Slaton (R-Royse City) responded [[link removed]] to the event, stating, “Drag shows are no place for a child.” Slaton promised to file legislation that would ban drag shows in the presence of minors.

California’s Democrat State Sen. Scott Wiener responded to Slaton’s remarks, saying Slaton had given him an idea for a bill of his own: “Offering Drag Queen 101 as part of the K-12 curriculum. Attending Drag Queen Story Time will satisfy the requirement.” Sydnie Henry [[link removed]]has the details.

As parents fight back against the overt sexualization of children across the nation, the left has been arguing that teachers aren’t grooming school children. Yet, Wiener is suggesting that the K-12 curriculum do exactly that and include Drag Queen Story Time.

Former Texas State Rep. Jonathan Stickland had a sharp response for Wiener, saying, "Sen. Wiener once again showing the world why people are fleeing Calipornia for Texas in record numbers."

No wonder Californians are fleeing their state. In fact, earlier this year, there were so many Californians leaving—many to Texas—that U-Haul ran out of trucks [[link removed]] for them to rent.

Parents Gather Outside Texas Education Agency

Around 30 parents, grandparents, and community taxpayers gathered Tuesday morning outside the Texas Education Agency building to petition the TEA to remove Superintendent Hafedh Azaiez and enact penalties on the Round Rock ISD board of trustees, reports Sydnie Henry [[link removed]].

The “safe and suburban” school district, located just outside of Austin, has been racked with scandal ever since Azaiez’s appointment to the position of superintendent last June.

The list of grievances against Round Rock ISD includes [[link removed]] an “illegal $10 million tax hike, arrests of concerned parents and taxpayers, and the reinstatement of a superintendent accused of sexual impropriety and oppression of board trustees who oppose him.”

Texas School Districts Must Face Loss of Public Confidence

Both school districts have been accused of inappropriately electioneering in order to pass massive school bonds.

Texas School Districts Must Face Loss of Public Confidence

The City of Athens (pop. 13,121) has begun the citizen initiative petition process outlined in their city charter to force a public vote on outlawing abortion within city limits.

Mark Lee Dickson [[link removed]], the director of Right to Life of East Texas, says out of the 50 cities in the United States that have passed ordinances outlawing abortion, 49 cities have completed the process by a vote of their mayor and city council.
