London Councils' AGM

London Councils' Leaders' Committee AGM ( [link removed] ), which saw the election of the Chair, Deputy Chair, Vice Chairs and Executive Members, took place yesterday (Tuesday 7 June).

Cllr Georgia Gould has been re-elected Chair of London Councils, promising to deliver on the boroughs’ shared agenda at this “important moment” for the capital.

Speaking after the AGM, Cllr Gould said: “The next few years present huge challenges for London - tackling inequality in our city, supporting residents and businesses through the cost-of-living crisis and ensuring London’s voice is part of debates on levelling up.

“Having stepped up to support our communities during the pandemic despite incredibly difficult circumstances for us all, London boroughs are committed to working together on our shared ambitions from tackling the climate crisis to supporting Londoners facing a cost-of-living crisis. Together we will make the case for London and make sure the voices of Londoners are heard.

“I feel incredibly hopeful that at this important moment for our city, London boroughs will focus on delivering for communities across the capital.”

Digital Inclusion

Ahead of its inaugural Digital Inclusion Conference on 23 June, the London Office of Technology and Innovation (LOTI) is hosting 30 days of ( [link removed] )#LDNdigitalinclusion ( [link removed] ), sharing great initiatives and resources from LOTI and beyond that you can use to support Londoners get online. The initiative includes a new ( [link removed] )London Digital Exclusion map ( [link removed] ) ( [link removed] ) that uses publicly available data sets to identify wards that may have relatively high levels of digital exclusion.

E-Scooters 

Yesterday marked the one year anniversary of the launch of London's e-scooter trial. With more than one million trips made, covering 2.5 million km, the trial provides a flexible, green alternative for travel across the capital.
