In January, I filed a lawsuit against Google for deceptively tracking its consumers.
We discovered that even after Google users turn off “Location History” in their account settings, the company still collects their location data. Google uses this private information to increase its advertising revenue.
Google’s deceptive conduct violates Washingtonians’ privacy and the Consumer Protection Act. I am demanding accountability and justice. Google must end this practice and pay monetary penalties.
A King County judge rejected the international tech-giant’s attempt to dismiss my lawsuit. We move forward towards trial.
Location data is deeply personal, and consumers should be able to easily choose whether or not they allow Google to track their information. We will not allow Google to evade responsibility to their consumers by dismissing this lawsuit. The company must, and will, be held accountable.
Add your name if you stand with me in the fight to protect our data privacy.
Thank you,
Bob
