Last week, as Chair of the House Judiciary Committee, I led an emergency markup to pass some sane gun laws because the senseless deaths need to stop. Gun violence is tearing apart our communities, and I’m not wasting any time to take meaningful action.
This week, I will manage a vote on the House floor of my legislation, including the Protecting Our Kids Act, which will keep guns out of dangerous hands, crack down on gun traffickers, and most importantly: save lives.
While my opponents court big donors and barely say a word that’s not focus-grouped to the point of absurdity, I’m walking the walk.
The stakes are too high to let politicians more interested in playing political games than taking action represent us. They are going to do everything they can to punish me for leading the fight against the gun industry, but we’re going to beat them through organizing and fighting for what’s right.
