My fellow Republicans,

I've really enjoyed my time as your Chairman. We've made progress and left the party with a great slate of candidates for this fall, and I expect them to do very well.

I want to wish my successor, Jeff McManus, good luck in everything he and his administration do. I spoke to him today, and have his permission to report that he is planning the County Executive Committee Organizational Meeting for Tuesday, June 21.

Sadly, we have lost two great local Republicans in the past few days. David Straus and Libba Barnes will be missed. Libba Barnes was Bexar County Chair for the Nixon and Ford presidential campaigns, and served on the State Republican Executive Committee for eight years.
