John, I’m incredibly humbled by the endorsements I’ve received and the incredible folks who have thrown their support behind me.
When I announced my run for Congress 9 months ago, more than just a few people counted me out and wrote me off. People thought I was no match for the typical career politicians who they assumed would be shoo-ins for the seat.
I got involved in politics after the Sandy Hook shooting when I attended the vigil in Washington D.C. and heard from family members of the victims.
3 years later, I became a survivor myself right before the Pulse shooting here in Orlando.
I've now been in this fight for 10 years and served as the National Organizing Director with March for Our Lives after Parkland. I am running for Congress because the time is now to pass meaningful legislation to end this epidemic of gun violence.
And thanks to an avalanche of grassroots support, I’ve defied the odds to become the frontrunner in this race.
