Happy Pride Month!
Every June, we celebrate Pride to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall riots and celebrate the progress we’ve made towards ensuring justice and equality for ALL.
Despite this progress, our fight is far from over. Right now, LGBTQ+ rights are under attack in America.
Conservative state legislators have passed dangerous bills like the “Don’t Say Gay” bill in Florida and the anti-trans bill in Ohio that would enable a “verification” process targeted at transgender athletes.
With the Supreme Court poised to overturn Roe v. Wade, landmark decisions on LGBTQ+ equality and other civil rights are under threat from the Court’s conservative majority.
This Pride Month, we must fight back against homophobia and transphobia in all its forms. Add your name if you’re ready to take action in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community:
Washington state has been a leader on this issue for decades, protecting LGBTQ+ Washingtonians from employment and housing discrimination and banning harmful “conversion” therapy on minors.
But LGBTQ+ Americans across the country still face discrimination in so many areas of life, and the rise of right-wing, anti-LGBTQ+ legislation threatens to undo the progress we’ve made since Stonewall.
We must keep fighting for a better future for all Americans.
Happy Pride!
