Happy Pride Month! Pride is always a celebration of our LGBTQ+ community -- especially in Maryland where Baltimore’s Pride celebration is one of the oldest in the country. While we celebrate this month, it’s important to keep in mind what it’s all about: our long-running fight for equality for all. With the Supreme Court’s decision on Roe v. Wade hanging in the balance, it’s not just reproductive rights on the line. If the Supreme Court overturns Roe, it could put other historic decisions on the chopping block -- including Obergefell v. Hodges, which guaranteed the right to same-sex marriage. Our efforts to secure equal rights for all Americans are more urgent than ever. I’m proud to have a 100% rating from the Human Rights Campaign for my commitment to equality. I voted for measures to secure anti-discrimination protections and address acts of violence targeting the LGBTQ+ community.
