Dear Friends,
Earlier today, my colleague Congresswoman Lucy McBath and I were with Gabby Giffords at the Gun Violence Memorial to join in solidarity with gun violence survivors and honor the more than 45,000 lives stolen from America’s families by gun violence in 2021. The House is taking action to address this crisis which is a public health emergency. Enough!
As you know, Congresswoman McBath devoted her life to ending gun violence after her son Jordan Davis was killed at 17 years old in a tragic and racist act of gun violence. Honoring Jordan, she channels her survivor’s resolve on a mission to save lives and end gun violence in our country.
Please join me in welcoming Congresswoman McBath to our weekly grassroots volunteer update zoom TOMORROW evening for a powerful discussion of her story and the work that we are doing in the Congress and in partnership with our friends and allies in the movement to end the terror of gun violence in our country:

In the shadow of Buffalo, Uvalde, and countless tragedies before and as we prepare to mark the tragic Pulse anniversary marking 6 years since 49 beautiful young souls were stolen from us in an act of armed hate, the House is taking action to honor gun violence victims with solutions that will save lives – including Congresswoman McBath’s initiative to de-escalate crises and remove access to guns through extreme risk protective orders for those deemed a danger to themselves or others.
I am honored today and every day to work alongside Congresswoman McBath to deliver the brighter, more secure future for America’s children that they deserve. Thank you.
