Happy Pride, John,
Every June, there is a surge in LGBTQ+ visibility, celebration, and allyship.
But just imagine: You’re ready for a night on the town, but before the fun even gets started, you’re kicked out of a cab for kissing your girlfriend. Or you’re ready to hit the club, but you’re barred at the door because you’re gay.
Millions of LGBTQ+ people live this kind of discrimination because many states lack the legal protections we need to be visible.
That’s why we’re working to pass comprehensive federal nondiscrimination protections.
Nondiscrimination protections would update federal law to ensure no one can be discriminated against in the workplace, healthcare, education, housing—and public places like public transport, restaurants, clubs, and bars.
It’s waiting on a vote in the Senate right now, and your voice is the push senators need to get to work. Can you do two things ASAP?
- Tell your senators: It’s time to support federal LGBTQ protections.
-
Tell your friends to speak up: Forward this email so they can contact their senators too.
Let’s make history this Pride Month and finally protect all LGBTQ people everywhere!
