This hearing follows last week’s release of the Social Security Trustees Report, which showed that in spite of the ongoing pandemic, and in spite of constant Republican opposition, our Social Security system remains strong. Any shortfalls that may occur can be easily addressed by making sure that the wealthy pay their fair share!

Of course, Republicans are firmly committed to making sure the wealthy never pay their fair share. That’s why many of them backed a plan from Medicare fraudster¹-turned-National Republican Senatorial Committee chairman Rick Scott that even Mitch McConnell acknowledged would end Social Security and Medicare in five years.

Rick Scott is ON this committee. So we expect there to be fireworks.
