15 election deniers — who continue to push false claims about the 2020 presidential election results — are running in attorney general races in 14 states, including Michigan[1].
The Republican Party’s latest strategy is to seat election denying candidates in top state official seats like attorney general in the hopes that they will use their power to influence, or even flat out undermine, the outcome of future presidential elections.
In a battleground state like Michigan, it’s critical that our attorney general is committed to defending our right to vote. That’s why we must come together now to reelect Attorney General Dana Nessel and defeat the GOP’s election denying puppet, Matthew DePerno.
Not only did DePerno file an unsuccessful lawsuit challenging the 2020 election results, but he also met with a State Department official in Washington D.C. on January 6, 2021[2].
If we fail to defeat Trump-backed Matthew DePerno in November, he will fulfill his campaign promise to destroy our democracy.
Team MDP needs to raise the resources to recruit and train volunteers to get voters to the polls and help democrats like Attorney General Dana Nessel defeat Trump’s handpicked Republicans in November.
