John: earlier this year, the anti-LGBTQ Illinois "Family" Institute had some strong words to say about out LGBTQ Illinois state Representative Kelly Cassidy. In a blog post, they called her a "sanctimonious, arrogant, and venomous lesbian" , a "unscrupulous demagogue" and "repugnant" .
What could Rep. Cassidy have done to deserve to be called such names? She simply stood up for trans kids. As the Illinois House debated horrific anti-trans bill, one bigoted representative misgendered trans athletes, peddled anti-LGBTQ stereotypes and called LGBTQ rights an "ideology at war with reality.”
But Rep. Cassidy was on-hand to strike back, correct the record and ensure LGBTQ kids weren't harmed by discriminatory legislation. Her speech defending trans lives and LGBTQ kids is a perfect example of why we work so hard to elect leaders like her.
We can't let these transphobes and homophobes will free rein over our laws. Chip in today to help Victory Fund elect MORE venomous lesbians and LGBTQ candidates today! [[link removed]]
