"Colorado Congresswoman Diana DeGette’s Legislation To Ban High-Capacity Gun Magazines Moves Forward"
John,
There’s no reason why any civilian in this country needs a gun magazine that holds more than 10 rounds, and experts agree that banning the sale of these high-capacity magazines is one of the most effective things we can do to protect our communities.
That's why in April of last year, Diana introduced the Keep Americans Safe Act, and now this crucial piece of legislation is moving forward to be voted on in the House.
Do you support banning high-capacity gun magazines? Sign this petition to let Diana know that she has your support as she fights to get this bill passed.
In 1994, the federal government took action and actually banned the sale of high-capacity magazines. This ban expired in 2004, and in 2019 a study concluded that over a three-decade period, attacks involving high-capacity magazines had a 62% higher death rate.
While we still have a long way to go until we fully solve the gun-violence epidemic, this is an effective way to get results and begin to solve the issue. Diana knows that our people's lives depend on passing common-sense gun-safety regulations, that's why she is committed to take on the NRA and champion a world where we can feel safe from gun violence in our everyday lives.
That's why, especially now, Diana needs your support in the fight to pass legislation that will ban high-capacity gun magazines. Sign the petition to let her know you support her efforts to ban high-capacity magazines.
Diana is relying on grassroots donors to continue fighting for Colorado values in Congress. Can we count on you to chip in $5 -- or whatever you can today -- to help her keep fighting?
