Dear John,
Words matter.
That's why it's important to define your terms in any debate. But how can Americans have an honest dialogue over the issues our nation is facing when the far-Left refuses to acknowledge the biological realities of the sexes and declines to define the word "woman"?
How did we get here? On May 9, 1914, during the first national observance of Mother's Day in America, President Woodrow Wilson called it a day to "[publicly express] our love and reverence for the mothers of our country."
Fast forward just a little over a century to Mother's Day this year, and it would seem that Joe Biden's woke administration probably thinks we should call it "Birthing Person's Day." (Wonder what they think of Father's Day coming up later this month?)
The White House has already replaced the word "mothers" with "birthing people" in its 2022 federal budget proposal. The far Left can't (or won't) define what a woman is in their ongoing effort to deny science and reality as it pertains to sex and gender.
Make no mistake, this linguistic shift is intentional, and it's tricking people into accepting the lies of gender identity ideology over truth.
As Christians, we are bound by the Word of God--words that speak the truth and give life meaning.
Psalm 19:14 (NLT) expresses what our desire ought to be: "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer."
You can count on FRC to remain steadfast in speaking truth--grounded in God's unchanging, infallible Word--as we advocate for policies that support your faith, family, and freedom.
With our critical fiscal year end fast approaching on June 30, some generous friends of FRC have put forward a $1.2 Million Challenge Match to double the impact of your gift. Your partnership will accelerate our efforts to advance our shared mission.
Will you commit to giving a generous gift to support FRC's vital work amplifying your voice to policymakers and the culture at large?
DOUBLE MY IMPACT
In their allegiance to the gender identity ideology, many on the Left are petrified of the science that supports the truth: that we are created in the image of God, both male and female.
During her U.S. Supreme Court confirmation hearing, Biden nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson was asked by Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) to define the word "woman." Jackson responded, "I can't."
When questioned further by Blackburn, the judge insisted, "Not in this context. I'm not a biologist."
Judge Jackson is reportedly an intelligent person, and her failure to define the word "woman" is undoubtedly because she wouldn't, not because she couldn't. Declining to answer affirms the leftist messaging that gender is up for interpretation. It isn't!
How ironic, considering the Left and their media allies are celebrating the first Black woman's appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court.
But as Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.) reminded us, "the beautiful thing is," none of us has to define "woman." "God already did it."
Family Research Council is at the forefront of this cultural battle, educating and activating Americans to oppose dangerous legislation that undermines biblical values and truth.
Legislation like the Equality Act, which would mandate special privileges for sexual orientation and gender identity-- leaving many to suffer the consequences, including women and girls who would be forced to share bathrooms, locker rooms, showers, and battered women's shelters with biological males.
Your vital fiscal year end support today will enable us to continue fighting against the radical Left's agenda!
DOUBLE MY GIFT NOW
In just a span of one century, we've gone from publicly celebrating women and the unique roles they fill to denying their rights--even their existence.
David Closson, the Director of FRC's Center for Biblical Worldview, aptly expressed the consequences of the gender identity ideology agenda: "Americans of every background and political persuasion must be willing to stand up to gender identity ideology. If we don't, girls today will be the first generation of women in the United States to have fewer opportunities than their mothers. We cannot let progressives erase women. It's immoral, unjust, and unfair."
Language is being manipulated and used as a tool to silence those who agree with science and hold to a biblical worldview of the sexes. The far Left won't be satisfied until everyone accepts their gender identity ideology, voluntarily or by force of government power. We must determine now--we never will!
We at FRC are on a mission to equip men and women all over the nation to stand for biblical truth and to ensure we are all free to pass these values on to our children and grandchildren.
Will you commit to stand with FRC--in prayer and support? Then step forward and help us match this $1.2 Million Challenge and meet our $3.6 Million June budget goal!
I thank you for joining me in committing to pray and for your generous support of FRC so we can be fully resourced to face the challenges to our faith, our families, and our freedom.
