2. We're bracing ourselves for a summer fundraising slump.

Here’s the deal: Cory is determined to do his part to help Democratic candidates across the country win in November, so we can protect and expand our slim majority in the Senate.

But at the end of this month, we’re facing a big test. After we close the books on June 30, we’ll report exactly what we’ve raised over the last three months to the FEC, and then all of that data will go public.

With national Republicans raising record sums and Mitch McConnell and his allies pouring millions of dollars into battleground states in an attempt to take back the Senate majority, it is crucial we have a strong report.

On top of all that, the summer presents an extra challenge. July and August are a notoriously difficult time for fundraising. It’s what we call the “summer slump.” Folks are offline — as they should be — enjoying the warm weather and spending time with loved ones, and fewer people tend to engage with messages like this one.

But that’s exactly why June is so important. We need to get to work now to meet our fundraising goal before the FEC deadline, and make sure we’re not falling behind when the summer slump really kicks in.

We can’t afford to lose momentum now. So we’re asking: Can you make a contribution of any amount to help us start June on the strongest possible footing?
