Imagine how the past two and a half years would have played out if Scott Jensen – our Republican-endorsed opponent and one of the most prominent spreaders of COVID-19 and vaccine misinformation in the country – was leading our state instead of Governor Walz.

While Governor Walz and Lt. Governor Flanagan were working around the clock to keep Minnesotans safe when the pandemic first hit, Jensen was spreading dangerous, self-serving lies on Fox News to downplay the virus, which has now claimed more than one million American lives.

Jensen’s comments in the early days of COVID-19 fueled countless conspiracy theories and continue to undermine the work of public health professionals to this day. Non-partisan PolitiFact even cited Jensen as having played a role in spreading the 2020 “Lie of the Year.”

John, when someone shows you who they are, believe them. During a time of unprecedented crisis, Jensen showed us exactly who he is, and he cannot be trusted. If we’re going to make sure Minnesota continues to be a place where we follow science and put people before TV interviews, we can’t let Jensen come anywhere near the governor’s office.
