I want to personally thank each and every one of you for your efforts to ensure that our Platinum Speaker Fundraiser is a tremendously successful event. Unfortunately, the challenge of navigating a new normal amid pandemic life is still very existent.
Within the past week, El Dorado County moved to the CDC’s highest risk level of COVID community transmission. Transmission levels locally are dangerously rising to some of the highest levels within the past year. At least three of our own DCC members have tested positive in the past week. We must remain vigilant & do our best to protect the most vulnerable— that is something we will not compromise on.
Therefore, our fundraising leadership team has come to the difficult decision to reschedule our June 12th Platinum Speaker event. This was a very tough decision to make, especially given the excitement surrounding this event & our need to raise funds to support our work. Ultimately, the health and safety of our host’s family, members, attendees, volunteers & community is our first priority.
Our team is working with Senate Majority Leader Mike McGuire’s office to lock in a new date & we look forward to sharing that information with you very soon. Everyone who has already purchased a ticket will automatically have their ticket value carried over to the new event date once confirmed. We greatly appreciate your continued patience, understanding & support. Should you determine that it is necessary to receive a refund, please reach out to me directly and I’ll work with our team to process a return of your donation.
To be candid, we needed this fundraiser and this postponement adds an increased call for each of us to actively & creatively pursue ways to recruit the funds we need to accomplish our pursuit. In the most recent election prior to COVID, our funding resources helped us successfully elect 10/11 of our El Dorado County Democratic Party endorsed candidates for local office in El Dorado County.
Our collective contributions of funds & involvement has proven to make a difference. Now more than ever, we need leaders rooted in our common values & focused on bringing forward solutions -- Let's pick up where we left off and deliver the elected leadership that our community and nation need in this moment.
