Heads up: this email discusses gun violence.

Hi folks,

The last few weeks have been heartbreaking.

Since the attack on an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas that tragically took the lives of 19 children and two adults, there have been more than 20 other mass shootings.

These massacres are unspeakably horrific — and we cannot sit back while more and more lives are lost to gun violence.

Last Friday was National Gun Violence Awareness Day, which marked the start of Wear Orange Weekend, a time to join together and demand a future without gun violence.

For decades, the gun lobby has prevented Congress from passing common-sense gun safety laws that a majority of Americans support — allowing everyday Americans to become targets in their own churches, schools, concert venues, movie theaters, and grocery stores.

As President Biden asked last week: How many more innocent lives need to be taken before we finally say "enough?"

The time to act is now. Congress must pass sensible gun safety legislation immediately. Team, I need your voice alongside mine.

Will you add your name to our petition to demand that Congress finally stand up to the gun lobby and take meaningful action to prevent gun violence? >>

We will continue doing everything we can to protect future generations from senseless gun violence. But we can’t do this work alone, so thank you for making your voice heard.

Take care,

John
