Hi y'all,

I hope your Thanksgiving was joyful and stress-free. I’ve spent the last few days enjoying some downtime with my family, and I’m starting off December reminded of the top two reasons I decided to run for Senate. There’s one hanging onto the front of me and the other hiding behind me in this photo:

I got into this because, like so many other folks across Texas and beyond, I can’t accept the mess we’re leaving for our kids. I’m not a politician, so running for Senate wasn’t some next step in a master plan for me.

But I care a whole lot about taking on climate change and conserving our environment so that our kids have a clean, thriving planet to live on. I care about protecting and improving health care so they can live long and healthy lives, and passing gun reforms so they’re safe going to school, or a concert, or the movies. My opponent, Sen. Cornyn, hasn’t given us any reason to believe he cares about those things.

If you’re with me, I hope you’ll pitch in to this campaign so we can work together to create a better future for the next generation. We have less than one year left to build the campaign we need to win, and I know we can do it if we work together.
