Happy Pride Month, John!

This past Saturday, I was proud to join Pittsburgh Pride to celebrate and march in solidarity with our LGBTQ+ neighbors, friends, and family.

Across the nation, we are seeing coordinated attacks on LGBTQ+ rights, especially against trans children. We must protect our most vulnerable populations. That’s why, when I’m elected to Congress, I will fight to pass the Equality Act to provide long-overdue federal protections for LGBTQ+ people and their families.

Right now there are no federal standards to prohibit discrimination against LGBTQ+ people in health care, housing, employment, and more. Beyond these fundamental protections, we must focus on meaningful representation for the LGBTQ+ community in politics and defend our rights against the Trump-packed right-wing Supreme Court.

Pride is a revolution, John. Revolutionary love. Revolutionary solidarity. Revolutionary unity. I can think of nothing more special or beautiful than that.
