Your weekly Indivisible Newsletter Indivisibles,
Over the last few weeks, we have seen multiple instances of mass shootings across the US; we have anxiously called, texted, and mobilized in defense of Roe; we have prepared to hear the findings on GOP criminality in the January 6 hearings; we’ve watched the ongoing attacks on our schools to censor our history, ban books, and target trans children, the LGBTQ+ community and teachers; and we have done all this while Republicans either do nothing in order to avoid accountability or actively oppose the will of the American people.
This is not normal. This can not be normalized:
- Over 60% of Americans support access to abortions.
- 80% of Americans believe the people involved on January 6 deserve a great deal of blame.
- More than 80% of Americans don’t believe books should be banned for discussing race, criticizing US history, or having political ideas they disagree with.
- 94% of Americans support universal background checks for gun purchases.
The Republican Party has been bought and sold by special interests and MAGA extremists and it is coming at the cost of the lives of our friends, our neighbors, and our families. These positions aren’t even progressive anymore -- they are common sense, basic, health and safety policies backed by the large majority of the American people.
If Republicans won’t even mobilize when Americans are dying at a rate far higher than any other peer nation, what can we possibly do to convince them that the lives of the American people matter?
Vote them out.
We need a true Democratic majority. We need to hold the House and gain control of the Senate in numbers that will allow us to eliminate the filibuster, add seats to the Supreme Court, codify Roe, pass common sense gun safety regulations, and move forward a progressive agenda that cares about the American people more than it does the wealthy donors currently blocking any advances in American politics.
We are going to Give No Ground this November, and when we come out the other side, we will see our country positioned to see true progress. The will of the American people is behind us, now we just need to mobilize those voters to secure a progressive future. Stay tuned for more updates this week on all of the ways we’re going to do that together -- and be sure to RSVP for tomorrow’s Give No Ground kickoff call to get all the latest strategic insights and updates on our work through November.
With that, here are your weekly to-dos:
Your weekly to-dos
- Click here to register for the Give No Ground Launch Event tomorrow, Tuesday June 7, at 8pm ET/5pm PT. Join Indivisible’s Leah Greenberg and Ezra Levin as they explain how we defeat Republicans at every level and protect Congress from a conservative takeover. At this event, you’ll learn how we plan to take control of the narrative, turn out low-propensity voters, target media buys, and deliver direct support to activists. This just in -- we’ll also be joined by Give No Ground candidates Katie Porter and Jamie McLeod-Skinner so you can hear directly from Democrats on the front lines why this election is so important.
- Click here to take the Give No Ground Pledge. We can’t lose Congress to a MAGA majority. We need to hold the House and gain a true Democratic majority in the Senate. As we’ve seen the last few weeks, we cannot afford to wait any longer. Sign the Give No Ground pledge and together we will create the future we all so desperately need. Give No Ground launches this week. Don’t miss out!
We rely on your support to keep call pages up and running, fund ads to get the word out, and continue all the work we’re doing this year. Help us continue this work and keep Republicans from gaining control of congress by donating here to help fund our work.
National Events
