In the month of June, we remember, honor, and commemorate the stories, identities, and lives of the many wonderful people who make up the LGBTQ+ community and who define pride.
But Pride Month is not just about celebrations. It’s also about action, activism, and awareness. As powerful and important our words and thoughts are, the actions we take to make change and secure the livelihoods of marginalized communities always speak louder.
This year has been extremely tough for the LGBTQ+ community, as state legislatures continue to pass legislation that infringes on their rights, and their very humanity.
We are our brother’s keeper, and we cannot let this discrimination stand. This Pride Month, let’s make it a priority to take action, be on the frontlines of change, and do whatever it takes to defend the rights of others.
