Today, I wanted to take a step back and reflect on how much we’ve accomplished together.
I'll never forget our early days in 2017 when I first decided to run for Congress. Back then, we were an exclusively grassroots campaign going door-to-door introducing our vision to voters. Dozens of new supporters turned into hundreds. And when we finally flipped this seat, it was credit to tens of thousands of small-dollar donors from across California and the country.
Fast forward five years, and with your ongoing support, we’ve passed significant legislation in Congress -- including bills to defend our coastlines and expand veterans services. We've made more progress on San Onofre than had been done in the past decade, and we ensured that North County San Diego and South Orange County received critical investments to improve our infrastructure and tackle the climate crisis.
I'm proud of what we've been able to accomplish, but I’m even prouder of the way we've done it: together -- with local support and without a shred of financial backing from corporate PACs.
So, before ballots are counted tomorrow, I want to thank you for believing in me and believing in what we can do together. I’m ready to continue fighting for our district and our values in Washington, and I'm honored to have you by my side.
Finally, if you haven’t done so, please mail in or drop off your ballot!
Thanks,
Mike
