As a gay, HIV-positive refugee, World AIDS Day carries a special meaning for me. I fled homophobic violence and a double life in Venezuela seeking asylum in the United States. Here, I can live as my full self, and I have access to the HIV treatment I need to stay healthy.
Now I’m an advocate for other queer, trans, and HIV-positive refugees—people forced to live in hiding in their countries, unable to get the HIV treatment they need. I know from personal experience that winning asylum here can save their lives. And that’s why today I’m asking you to support Immigration Equality, the organization that won my asylum case and saved my life.
This World AIDS Day, protect LGBTQ and HIV-positive refugees: start a Facebook fundraiser for Immigration Equality. Launch your campaign now, so you'll be ready for GIVING TUESDAY, the biggest fundraising day of the year for social causes. ([link removed])
Watch my immigration story, and you’ll know why this cause is so important to me:

Immigration Equality fights tirelessly for the rights of HIV-positive asylum seekers. So if you do one thing to support a cause this week, please ask your social network to support their work.
Start a Facebook Fundraiser today, before GIVING TUESDAY this Dec 3rd! Every doller will fund direct legal help for the 750 clients Immigration Equality currently serves. ([link removed])
Thank you for watching my story and lifting up the work of Immigration Equality. It means so much to me and to all LGBTQ and HIV-positive people seeking safe haven in the U.S.

Thanks,
