Over the past two years, we have seen doubts over the seriousness of the COVID-19 pandemic, hesitancy over the effectiveness of masks, and diminished trust in vaccines travel from the fringe of social media to the halls of Congress.

Confidence in science amongst Republicans is 30 points lower than in 1975, according to a recent poll. However, the issue of DisMis concerns all of us. Without the commitment to tackle misinformation, we will continue to see its impacts reverberate throughout our communities.
